JULIA KICKLIGHTER STRICKLAND

Julia K. Strickland 86, devoted wife, mother and grandmother died Wednesday, May 07, 2008 at the North Springs Assisted Living in Claxton, Georgia.
Mrs. Strickland was a native of Savannah and longtime resident of Claxton. She was a member of the Daisy United Methodist Church. She and her husband loved fishing and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds come and go each year. Mrs. Strickland enjoyed her needle works where she was multi-talented.

Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Strickland.

She is survived by her son, Larry C. Strickland of Ellabell, Ga., her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Don Smith of Claxton, Ga. and Jennie and Glenn Forbes of Savannah. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2008 from 6 p.m. until at the J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton, Georgia.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Daisy United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tab Smith and Reverend Joe Leatherwood officiating.

Burial will be in the Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, Georgia.
